‘Mind’ is a unique cut from house producer Ilyfield. Much of the track is built on the interaction between a strange bass synth and loud bouncy percussion, while occasional filtered synths and distant vocal lines flitter in and out of the background over a heavily sidechained pulse. Eventually, a virtuosic bongo solo takes centre stage, resulting in a sound one might not typically connect to a house banger. As the track progresses, the intensity builds, with polyrhythms jumping in left right and centre before the texture thins out and the bongo is left on its own.
